Share on Facebook, more than email

Jul 22nd, 2009

addtoany-graphFor a long time the email was the king when it comes to sharing content, whether documents, links and more. It was clear that the advent of Web 2.0 has changed things up a bit, but never so clear as now: to share, Facebook is used twice with regard to email.

This arises from a work by AddToAny (creators of the widget that we see in many places to share content and social networking sites) who claim that Facebook is used for 24% of the time you want to share something.

The email is a very distant second with just 11%, and Twitter is third with 10.8%. Something surprising, because the truth he did so with much more use to share links, images and more.

As detailed in the source, if you combine all the Yahoo! services, this would be located in second place with 14.4% of use, but delicious, Yahoo! Bookmarks, Yahoo! Buzz and Yahoo! Messenger have been counted separately. MySpace, a former leading social network, has fallen to fifth place with just 5%.
