open-monitorOpen Monitor is an open source program for Windows operating systems, which monitors both machines on a local network or remote servers and websites. Which it will become more complete Newt, Plaxo Network Suite 2.3, or NetInfo 1.5 Advanced IP Scanner, and other utilities that we have seen here in MillionMark.

To begin to analyze a server you will enter your IP address, and then select the services that we want to scan or check in the same: HTTP, FTP, POP, SMTP, NNTP, TELNET, SSH, DNS, IRC, or VNC. You can also customize the type of alert Open Monitor will send us in each case.

But the interesting aspect of Open Monitor is to enable us to monitor sites to which we add the URL and port. So we can use this application as a full emulator Ding, It’s Up, this excellent web service that lets us know when a site is down.

Open Monitor is a freeware application, compatible with Windows Vista, XP and 2000, and which occupies only about 6 MB of disk space.
