Feb 18th, 2009

skypeSkype and Nokia have agreed, through which high-end mobile phones of the Finnish company will come up with VoIP software, starting with the Nokia N-series in general and in particular the N97.

For Skype, despite how well marching versions that supports all three platforms (Linux, Windows and Mac OS X), it is important foothold in the mobile market, where it is believed that the future from the growing largest number of models support Wi-Fi and 3G.

We have talked several times on Skype Lite or Skype for mobile, and the reality is that success is having a growing and stable company with over 300 million minutes of communication. We will have to see how they affect this agreement with Nokia for the growth of Skype, and see how it handled the mobile phone companies, who see with fear the increasing use of VoIP phones.

However, although earnings may be lower per minute for telephone use VoIP through Wi-Fi or 3G, the number of minutes of use can be increased exponentially, not in vain many experts believe that the use of Mobile internet will be the basis of the profits of operators in the coming years.
