Freeraser: Portable App to Delete Any Sensitive Information
Freeraser is a portable and freeware that lets you delete files from your disk completely secure and final. Just as we write Wipe File yesterday, which is also portable, this application meets today with permission to be powerful, small and easy to use.
When you start this application, it creates an additional recycling bin on your desktop, which you should send all those files or folders you want to delete forever. The icon of the trash can be modified in size and transparency, and once you decide to close the application disappears without leaving any trace.
Methods of disposal of information, meanwhile, are three: a fast and remove the file reference to the partition table, then fill the space with random files. Another method is forced to perform the same procedure but the task of occupying the space with random files is performed three times throughout the DoD standard 5220.22M. And the ultimate destruction, finally, performs the same task 35 times through the Guttman algorithm, giving full guarantee that will never recover anything.
Of course this method, though more secure and permanent, is also very demanding in terms of time which will complete it, so for a general purpose and for most users the quick or fast Freeraser to be more than enough.
