Google App Inventor is a tool that has been developed by the Google Labs and has been officially released in the end of 2010. Comes with App Inventor, Google approached the development of applications for Android and offering an easy way to create applications in visual form and few coding.
However, Google has left this tool and when everyone already thought that it would be left in oblivion, Google has decided to join develop it with Massachusetts Technology Institute (MIT) and comes as an open source project.
The first version of Google App Inventor (together with MIT) is now available and promised to periodic updates to fix bugs and improve this tool. The final release is expected on April 2012.
